This Consulting group handled the search for the role I applied to. They stressed not to reach out for updates about the position then went ghost silent for months. Two months later they send out an email to let you know you are still in the running. Then on the third month they let me know I was out of the running.

Worst part: It's 2026 there is no reason for this to take 3 months if you knew you weren't even interested in an introductory conversation.
